Monroe DPW Bargains Two Year Agreement

UE Local 222, CILU #44 settled a 2 year contract, with a wage increases of 0% and 1.5%, and NO CHANGES to the health care plan design , deductibles, co-pays, or premium cost-share for life of agreement. The Members were also able to win:

3 additional sick days, (15) up from 12
-
increased extended disability payment (662/3% of base) to $5,000, up from $2,500. (Town will bridge the number of days needed, without repayment of days back)

2 personal days (had none)

increase in bereavement days (to 5, up from 3) for father, mother, sister, brother, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, or any relative who is domiciled within the employee's household

increase in shoe allowance (to $200, up from $125)

added "just cause" for all disciplinary actions

NO LAY OFF agreement for life of contract
The rank-and-file bargaining committee was led by President Rob Prihoda, Jerry Pison, Joe Viera and Ken Tortora; and assisted by UE Field Organizer Colleen Ezzo.
